which is better in performance, durability and quality: Athlon 1.4Ghz OR P4 1.5Ghz, I plan to buy new cpu.

Performance: Athlon

Durability: P4

Quality: quality is a fairly vague property that's derived from all other properties. P4 boasts quality of physical construction; Athlon boasts quality of its electronic design. You're better off asking about more specific properties.

the 1.4 athlon is as fast as 1.8 intel, then the 1.5 is really not a comparison.
