*The MSI is an older model, I think. It costs some $US 25 more. I am trying to get a laptop that I can use as an all-around PC. Movies, a little work:excel, photos, videos tasks, gaming. Unfortunately my budget is only able to afford up to these laptops.

*Please help me decide. Thank you.

Hello asoxtao;

Apart from gaming there won't be too much difference in overall performance for the rest of the tasks you list. The MSI CX420x's Core i5-480M 2.66GHZ CPU has the edge here.

For gaming the GT 540M graphics card of the Aspire 4750G will be a much better choice for gaming.

Overall, with gaming being the factor in making a choice, its the Aspire 4750G.
