I just contacted the local supplyer for the MC-462A to ask em about the delay.
apparently they are getting a NEW MODEL in very shortly...
NEW and very much improved! i didnt think it was possible but it looks like it is. i think the alpha PAL8045 was nippin at swiftech's heels a bit.
what they have done is:
take a standard 462, make the pins smaller, from 0.125" to 0.093", therefore fit more on, from 261 to 371 pins. Also give them hellical groves like its baby brother the MCX370, increasing the surface area ALOT, have different mounting systems for socket A, 423 and 478 (this should please Raystonn), give the 80mm fan some universal mounting brakets so u can fit any old fan and reinstitue the 4900rpm 80mm delta screamer, but this time have a rheostat as an optional extra!
all i can say is WOW WOW WOW GIMME GIMME GIMME!
i WAS debating the alpha pal8045 as an alternative, but NOT ANY LONGER.
this mother just looks nasty!
new name: MCX 462, MCX 423 or MCX478. (latter two of course, being for pentium 4 rigs)
*drools on keyboard*
Yeah, Swiftech HSF's kick ass. My brother has one on his Athlon Thunderbird 1.4 Ghz rig with Artic Silver 2 thermal paste. I think his rig could do with some overclocking considering his cooling.
