How to remove white squares with red xs

I am on a website I regularlly use called poetry.com some images are a white square with a red x in the top left corner how do I fix this it appeared after I had to do a factory reset?

its the webside's problem meaning your browser renders the space for pictures but the web server is missing the images

if its all websites try

if its internet explorer

in Internet Explorer, go to Tools, Internet Options and click on the Advanced tab. Look for the Multimedia section and make sure the box that says "Show Pictures" is checked

edit---that website displays all the images ok for me

There is an a small app, like java or flash or whatever, that is not there to display the item. Just reinstall the missing plug ins.
