memory V.S. fast cpu

should i go with a lot of memory (RAM), or a high speed cpu to make my pc super fast???

yea my e machine is slow but i have (i think) a lot of memory...... :)

To have a super fast machine, you should have a fast processor AND lots of memory.

Memory will make a more tangible difference though, as notebook HDDs are the main source of slow-down. Computer 'speed' is increased as the increased memory takes the load off the Hard Drive.

a 1.3ghz centrino and a 1.6ghz centrino seem to perform similarly. Memory is the best way to get more performance. it's cheaper and better on power than a faster cpu.
