good one!

now we will have more choices.

ALi southbridge is good, but they need to get over the PCI, you need faster links like the VIA V-Link, SiS MuTIOL etc. it would suck.

The only good chipset maker except Intel attack again.SIS denied it for now but every is denied before they are sure.

Southbrige

Take ICH4 + peplink + DDR 400 + single chip
Low cost low latency (highbandwith) still lower that Pc1066
Sweet but you can have every thing.

the Northbridge for ALi P4 chipset is M1671 and its still using the PCI, and the southbridge is still M1535+/M1535D+

That means ATI chipset is using PCI bus to connect the bridge, may not be a wise decision.

Never know if ATi is buying them they could modify then and use hyper transport.

do you mean they are getting the designs and making one on their own?

hypertransport would help them good, nForce uses hypertransport and does benefit from it!

I believe both ALi and SiS have said they will be developing chipsets that support hypertransport, so I wouldn't be surprised if this new product from ATi uses it too.

When all else fails, throw your computer out the window!!!
