hej,

I was wondering, i'm gonna buy the ECS K7S5A mainbord, but it's only possible to overclock with the FSB :frown:
So i was wondering IF it would be possible to set up a code on the L1 bridges, so i could change the multiplier on a AtlonXP 1600+ (11.5 instead of 10.5 or so) Just like as it was possible on the TB/duron ?
(see <A HREF="http://www6.tomshardware.com/cpu/00q3/000711/amd-01.html" target="_new">this link</A> also. )

So my question is, IF it would be possible to change the multiplier of a AthlonXP with the L1 bridges, and does someone know wich code i have to use to set up a multiplier like 11.5 ?

thnx for all your reply's !

It is nto the L1 bridges that you need to worry about in this case.....the L1 bridges are only there to tell the MB/BIOS whether or not the CPU will allow you to Input different things on the MB to chaneg the multiplier....

You need to change the DEFAULT Multiplier of the CPU, which I cannot recall off the top of my head if it is the L3, L4, L5, L6 or L7 Bridges.....but it is one of those that You will need to chaneg so the the actual CPU was changed....
Now the Motherboard will think the Multiplier of the CPU is indeed what you changed it to.....

This is the best link for unlocking the XP that I’ve found so far.

It seems that you have to insulate your closing of the L1 Bridges from the substrate as it has copper in it and that grounds or crosses your connection.
