I'm having a problem with an MN-740 - the Xbox Wireless
Adapter. I've configured it using an Xbox, but I
primarily use it to provide wireless connectivity for a
homebrew HTPC that lives under the TV which has a 10/100
Ethernet port.
The problem I'm having is that every once in a while, the
MN-740 apparently drops the gateway - I can still reach
the hosts on my LAN, but can't reach any host on the
Internet. There's nothing I can do on the PC end or the
MN-740 end to get it back ... except reconnect the MN-740
briefly to the Xbox.
I haven't been able to find documentation for it
anywhere - everything seems to state that once the
adapter is configured with an Xbox, it should work on
other connections without any problem. This connectivity
problem also doesn't happen with the other solution I
have hooked up, another brand of access point that is
configured in WDS bridging mode with the HTPC connected
to its single LAN port.
Is this known and/or expected behavior? Is there a
firmware update that I could apply to the MN-740 to make
it stop?
