According to the new AMD roadmap it says that the next AthlonXP will be out this quarter and not Q1 2002. I was under the impression that it was coming next quarter. Any comments on this??

I thought that they were releasing the 2000+ this quarter, and the 2100+ next quarter, but don't quote me on that, I don't remember where I read it.

According to the notes from the Analyst conference, AMD plans to release an XP2200+ 1Q02 and a 2400+ 2Q02, with 2600+ later in the year.

Then comes HAMMER at 3400+ performance rating. Hammer will scale to 4400+ by q403

One more thing...

XP2200+ is supposedly a .13 micron chip. So, it looks like AMD is on track for a 1Q02 release of .13 micron chips. SOI won't be implemented on Athlon chips until Q3 or Q4 2002

One more small note...

AMD is planning on a 1.3ghz Athlon 4 for mobile market this year, I believe. That should go well with the new DDR RAM running notebooks shortly. It will push AMD ahead of mobile Intel on desktop replacement class notebooks.
Their roadmap also calls for the Thoroughbred core mobile chips to fit in a broader array of notebook form factors, including the light and thin notebooks....beginning Q102
