Can any one help me choose between these two

HP dv6 and DEll xps 15

HP dv6 - Around $924.99
HP dv6 Quad Edition (dv6tqe) Laptop with 2nd generation 2011 Core i7 Quad CPU "Sandy Bridge" options and 1GB Radeon HD 6490M / 6770M GDDR5 Graphics. Includes Beats superior audio, USB 3.0, fingerprint reader, free upgrade to 6gb Ram, free upgrade to Blue ray, 640GB 7200 RPM HDD. 15.6" diagonal Full HD HP Anti-glare LED Display (1920 x 1080)

Dell XPS 15 - Around $999 to $1100
Fully Loaded 2nd generation Dell XPS 15 with Core i7, 1080p screen, 6GB RAM and Blu-ray

Overall which one would be a better performer and value for money.

And, should I go for Quad (i7) or i5 processors ? (Software dev, and occassional gaming)

Thanks

I would say go for the Dell because of the automatically switching NVIDIA graphics and backlit keyboard.
