Keyboard filter is a windows driver which 'reads' your keystrokes for use with various functions.

What do the blue screens say?

Cant help you without knowing.

most everyone here agrees that a fresh install is preferred over an upgrade, known problem with previous Windows installations, a fresh install takes me about 15 to 20 min, I did try upgrading my laptop from Vista, that took 4 hrs
