Open start menu, type in 'cmd', right click 'cmd.exe', select Run as administrator and finally type sfc /scannow and confirm with enter.

Thanks a bunch...NOT! Now I have to find my WinXP Pro SP3 CD, install it and hope this message:
"Files that are required for Windows to run properly must be copied to the DLL Cache. Insert ...SP3 CD now."
will go away, my icons will be where I put them, and no more s**t hits the fan.
So, did you neglect to mention something, or is it just my plain bad luck?

First post, and already off to a bad start...

First, you're replying to an old thread...

Second, you come in with attitude. Not conducive to receiving further assistance from those that may be able to help.
