Hello, I finally got all my junk working tonight. I have a 1.3 GHz Athlon, 266 FSB. My problem is, that when the cpu tries to load Win ME @ 1.3, it freezes, so I back it off to 1.0 GHz, and it does fine. I bought a 1.3 and I want a 1.3. Can anyone please tell me why this is happening? Also, is about 110 F normal @ 1.0 GHz?

It is an ECS K7S5A, and yes, it supports 266 FSB. Are 116 F 1.3 GHz temps ok?

Yes those temps are fine, your problem is that POS mobo, When I tried to get one for a guy I built a computer for, it was doa, I took it back to frys to replace it and told them I would not leave till the computer worked.(brought it with me)........long story short, 4 more doa boards latewr I left with a kg7 raid, abit or asus forever.

PS: Make sure its pc133 ram, and the cas latency is set to 3, most generic ram runs at cl3....if its ddr make sure its cl2.5. Are you reusing the old harddrive, i find that if there is a system error usually installing windows wont go well, and if you made it through an install it is most likely not hardware related.(unless you did the install at 100fsb)

IF you did just swap the harddrive from another pc, that almost never works, shame on you, reformat and reinstall.
