why haven't those guys used a res of 640x480 to make the video .. they could have a chieved a better looking video and not so hard to decode at the same kb rate .. and by the way, i have a 750 duron and had no problems decoding it full speed, even in media player .. they say we need a 900 Mhz proc to run in flawlessly ... ???
I would have to disassemble my systems to get a drawer like that!
I do have about 20 CPU's and about 30 modules in my parts bins, but mostly older parts.
I'm reducing it. How many Pentiums do you want, I just threw out about 50 P75's., still have a few 100's, 133's and 166's for sale, everything faster is going in systems.
From what was said in the article, the video sounded as though it need a beefy system to play on.
If you want to call a beefy system a Celeron 400 o/c @ 500, w/ 256mb PC100/133 RAM then albeit.
My system had no problems what-so-ever playing it in Windows Media Player 7.1, other than slight (what appeared as) dithering problems - but nothing in the slightest dramtic.
Maybe they used 720x576 as that is the video format of their camera - it is a lot easier just to plug it straight through without worrying about resizing and the resulting image quality.

its easy as pie to resize when encoding to DivX codec, especially if you use the SBC method found at www.doom9.net.
Very good video though, if I get an XP processor soon I'll have to try it.
ROFL, You might want to pause the video and you will see the 17 or so Athlons and 6 or more with blast area (great ratio) =P And NO, that is not a super messy job with white compund.
Just a junk drawer, worthy of ebay.
Also notice just 1 P4 socket 478... Intel is giving THG coal this year too.
Of all that ram, I dont see any RAMBUS in that drawer. I do see what looks like a purple cover over the ram and I only see one.
