USB Device Not Recognized... Help, Please

some times mouse works
some times it is not recognized
I tried 2 different mouses

Do you have the most up to date drivers for your mouse? Are you using the same USB port that you used when it was previously working?

Yes, I checked and I have updated driver.

I am not sure what you mean by port.

A friend erased Win Vista and installed Win 7 Ultimate.

Problem started when I got laptop back .
