Forum CPU & Components : CPUs Athlon Problems Solved

I'd like to thank EVERYONE on this great forum that posted replies about my problems with my Athlon 1.3 (266 FSB) and my P.O.S. ECS K7S5A mainboard. I'd like to let you all know that I waited for my DDR Ram to come in, installed it, made my PC run @ 1.3, and everything was PERFECT. I have tested and retested and made my PC work like a beast of burden, and not a single lockup or problem. I'd have to say that the DDR Ram is what fixed it all. Thanks again to everyone!

Countless times now its been the DDR ram swapout (when its not the PSU or HSF).

Is it bad ram or incompatability?

Reply to FUGGER

well help us out here. what was the before and after ram brands/types?

was it really bad ram... or as fugger said an incompatibility with your "POS mobo" as you yourself called it :)

Excuse me for a moment. I need to drive my ergonomic wheely chair over a sheet of bubble wrap!

Ignore AMDMeltdown, Fugger and Intel_inside; they are ignorant liars.

He didnt swap the ddr ram, he was using sdram as I recall, the ecs board is just crap. I am glad it is working for him now though.

As Matisaro said, I did not swap the DDR Ram. I started out with 320 MB of SDRam, which I do know is working correctly, because I put it all back into my
old Celeron 633 system, and it works fine. A very informative thread a poster referred me to gave me a lot of information on my board, so thank you to him
(to lazy to look up his name, at school so internet is ssslllooowww). Thanks again.

It wasnt me for sure! i dont like that ECS board much, it has a SiS chipset on it.

BTW I am glad the forum helped you out with the problem. Could you please make a brief story on the issue and mail it to me? It will help others through a upcoming troubleshooting site we at THG are developing. You might be interested to contribute.

And for all others too, if you have such a story with problems and their solutions pls mail to girish@64bits.org you can see the discussion in the other's thread, I am too tired to get you the link, dinner time! You can see and suggest about the site on http://www.64bits.org/thg/
