I am happy with my Celeron450, but want to upgrade my cpu when the fastest choices get cheap. I want to wait until prices bottom out, but am a little nervous they might disappear. My choices are a Celeron 900 or PIII-850 to 1Ghz (100Mhz FSB).
Anybody know when these are going out of production? What are the lowest prices I can expect?
Seems like Celerons don't get much cheaper than $50 before they start getting scarce, and most PIII's get scarce at about $100? Although the PIII-1000E seems very scarce today at $140. I could only find 1 shop selling them currently. Could we see more PIII-1000E as the 700s and 800s disappear?
