Athlon XP 1600 and Win98

I made a WIN98 partition just to play games faster.Wrong move cause Athlon XP really gives very low frames under win98.Even my old PIII 750 smokes Athlon easily .Win98se is an Intel optimised OS or is just too old for the new Athlon.That's bad cause Win98 is the ultimate gaming OS.

You have something configured improperly, because the os does not make much of a difference in taking advantage of the speed an athlon xp provides. Also, there is no way a p3@750 can smoke an athlon xp, unless you have it configured improperly.

I agree. On Descent 3 game I was getting about 40 to 50fps Now I m getting 80 to 100fps and that on a millennium G450. There some problem with your setup.

i agree with you as far as win98 being the best os for gaiming, but like the other guys said you have something major wrong with your configuration if pIII 750 beats your axp.
