My motherboard supports P3`s up to 1.13ghz, and i`m ready to upgrade from the celly 633@950. Is there such thing as a 1.13 socket 370? (not a tualitin) my board does not support tually`s. If so is it a good performer or am I better off at 1ghz or the trusty old 700@933, I would rather not overclock if possible and I want to maximize the speed of my system. I don`t mind paying the extra 50-60 bucks if the performance gains are worth it. Any assistance appreciated.

Intel introduced a coppermine 1.13GHz version of the Pentium 3 last year but they needed to be recalled with 3 days of release as they had major ERRATA and they were not even close to beign stable, crash left right and centre, sometimes wouldnt post, etc. so basically dont expect to get ahold of a Coppermine 1.13GHz Pentium 3 you'll be doign yourself a favour by not getting it even if you miracly find one......
A P3 933 and a P3 1GHz side by side you will NOT notice a difference at all, its just for bragging rights to say yours is 1GHz.....stick with the 700 @ 933 and with the money you saved from it Get some extra ram or something than you can give me your old Celeron CPU =) .....Well, it was worth a try.......

Your best options:
1.) Pay for the 933 since you don't like overclocking, or
2.) Get the 700 and bump it up to 933, since you don't like paying, or
3.) Pay for the 1GHz and get bragging rights.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

Intel re released a 1.130 ghzchip for the oem market. It is a cDo stepping and was released as oem only. These will fit any board with a bios update to accept cD0 stepping coppermines. Intel S-Spec SL5QW.

I aint signing nothing!!!

HA HA HA! Thanks crash, I`m leaning towards the 700 again, I just don`t want to be busting pins and stripping telephone wire if I can avoid it.

Correct, but its different from regular coppermine also, its more liek a tully is it not ?

anyways i doubt it would work in huis board nonetheless......

Yes, 700 @ 933 is your best option... =)

No these were also released as 1 gig.933,and 866 mhz processors. Retail and oem. The 1.130 was only oem. 11x100=1130. Actually im buying one off ebay and will have it Thursday or Friday.

No offense ric, but isn`t 11x100=1100, Besides, why choke yer system with the 100 fsb. I`m sure a 933 or 1ghz at 133 fsb would easily outperform an 1100 at 100 fsb.

Hey. Isn't 1,13GHz=133*8,5? 1,1GHz is 100*11. And wouldn't it be good idea to buy 1GHz PIII and overclock it a little? (FSB 150 or 155)? It would make a diffrence beetween buying 700 and 1GHz CPU.

The cD0 steppings of the Coppermines are often confused with Tualatins because they have an IHS (Integrated Heat Spreader) just like the Tualatins. Physically they look nearly identical, but the cores are very different.
