AMD 1U rackmount units

Just saw this today that AMD MPs are being shipped in 1U
rackmounts.. that was eye opening for me to say the least.
I didn't think that AMD chips could be put in a 1U chassis
due to heat constraints.. but apparently they can.

Of course they can, but you wouldnt want to build it yourself. Keep in mind the Athlon consumes less power, and thus dissapates less heat than a comparable P4. In fact, I even thought they made 1u Itanium servers. now THAT is some serious thermodynamical achievement (if true).

they have been out for quite a while.
<A HREF="http://www.microway.com/products/clusters/dualathlon.html" target="_new">Microway</A> has had turn-key Beowulfs since MPs were first released.
