Hi guys,
first of all: Sorry for my English as it's not my native language, but I try my very best. Second: I hope this is the correct forum for a, perhaps, very strange question. But let me introduce my problem (as long as it's really one).
I recently upgraded my computer to the following specs:
CPU: Intel Core i7 3770
Mainboard: ASUS P8Z77-V LX
RAM: 8 GB DDR3 HyperX 1600 MHz
Harddisks: Crucial M4 128 GB SSD and my former Sata HDD
GFX: GigaByte NVIDIA GeForce GTX560 OC (1GB GDDR5) with Nvdia driver 306.23
OS: Windows 7, always up2date
Ok, now let me explain my problem. It all began with Assassin's Creed Revelations. I noticed some small stuttering - not if I am standing, but when I move. And not always, but from time to time. "Ok", I said to myself, "this might be a problem" so I tried other games. Skyrim, for example. And sometimes, after moving for a while, I get small stuttering - as if the game as a small "hiccup" for one second. Particularly the fps go down from, let's say, 90 fps to 80 and then back.
I noticed this in other games, too. It happens very often and more frequently in Guild Wars 2, where the fps to down for, uhm, about 4 to 7 fps and go back. The maximum temperatures of CPU and GPU never touched 70° C so far.
Benchmarks, instead, run fine. FurMark has constant fps values, no "hiccups", even after running for about 30 minutes (reaches a maximum of 80° C). 3DMark 11 tells me that my computer seems to perform fine, also 3D Mark Vantage.
I also tested RAM with memtest 86+ for half a day, no errors.
So my question is:
Is this simply a case of the game engines reloading objects or is my computer broken? Thesis 1 is supported by the fact that it only happens while moving, at least I am noticing it then. But why does it not happen in benchmarks? In the Haven DX 11 benchmarks I can move through the landscape without any stuttering.
Either this is a serious problem or I am just some kind of, uhm, digital hypochondriac
Thanks in advance
