my question is pretty much what the topic title says - does aero automatically disable itself during a full screen application? Typically a game.
I've always had aero off in Vista, thinking it was stealing my resources secretly, but with the new features to aero in Windows 7, I'd like to use it. However, my main priority is always performance.
Yes, in single monitor, full screen mode, Aero is off.

But I'll tell you: Stuff like shutting off Aero is normally reserved for marginal systems that may be having trouble running the OS, not for systems which are otherwise running well. I've run the normal settings, and also disabled Aero - I notice no difference in frame rates or performance. So I leave it on.
