International Aid?????

Where is the world even trying to help America in our disaster?????? The same countries that were crying about our aid to the tsunami, have remained silent. No one has come to our aid!!!! The world wants what America has to offer them, but it looks like a one way street, when it comes time to help America!!!!

That's fine with me, really.... American's can & will take care of our own.... I for one will do what I can to stop the one way use of our assets, through out the world, from now on!!!!!!

Im sure if america asked and we had something to offer we would provide it. But what do you give the country that has everything?

I would think at least some compassion. Have you even heard a statement of support from another country? The UN? Anybody? [shrug]

The big problem is NO flooding & they can't stop it... They're going to take everyone out of NO & take the them a little more that 300 miles to Huston TX.... They say NO is going to be gone for 4 to 6 weeks... I can't imagine loosing my house & being relocated to another state....I say they shouldn't rebuild NO, but they will!!!!

Aid will come, but that's not helping the people that are trying to walk out of a flooding town...

I agree completely, If they are going to rebuild then why not just relocate to the bottom of an active volcano. Disaster imminent, but eruptions are less frequent that hurricanes.

I read the long-term National Hurricane Center analysis of weather patterns ... especially the 30 yr cycles of hurricanes. Seems we are finished with a 30 yr cycle of below-avarage seasons and have entered the cycle of above-average number and intensity ... what they are saying is this is "normal" now ... we had four here last year ... I've lived here 15 yrs and don't remember that many ... I'm pretty sure I'm moving out west again just to get the he<b></b>ll out of the way ... I, personally, couldn't tolerate what the people along the effected Gulf coast are going to go through for months, if not years ... screw this!

international aid for US? is there such a thing? i hate to laugh at your question but it is very unlikely that anyone will send help, too bad too, we sure as hell give out a lot...

No, I don't expect it..... I was asking a question of all the liberal countries that got all over us to drop $$$ on the tsunami.... Where are they now????

I know that we'll take care of our own...... That's what it means to be American, in the long run!!!!

If you needed aid we would give it, but what help is a few helicopters and some food gonna be? America isnt short of either, its getting it too the people thats the problem and no ammount of money is going to make that easier.

My point is that there is no point offerring aid to a country that doesnt need it. Other than as a gesture of sympathy.

I think they should rebuild the french quarter. That area is actually above sea level. The rest they should let go.

Sorry man. I don't see it that way anymore. After missing the Tsunami by only a few days (I'd be dead if I stayed in Thailand for x-mas which I was considering), I realize how fragile we all are.

You can all rant. I'm simply being the DA. You have to admit that it's rather selfish to make a bigger deal out of OUR 1000 dead than someone ELSES 10,000 dead. Yet we all do it. It's human nature.

Was discussing this with a friend of mine in the UK. Why was it that during 911 I felt so strongly about it but the London bombings barely affected me? I was more distrubed by my detachment from the London bombings than the actual bombings themselves.

Actually the USA was the primary relief donor during your floods. Without USA, Australian, and EU aid your country would probably have lost over 100,000 people. You just don't know that since you and your 200 friends are stupid.

I know it isn't much, but on THG's Hard News you can spot the aid from one BC company offering American companies and their employees free data recovery services until the 16 of September to help them quickly recover anything salvaged and to regain their businesses with less losses than expected.

I am more than positive Canadian aid will be coming down too. I think it was mostly the idea that the aid would be better off to wait untli the people got outside of the town to help them, as the flood zone itself was too risky and hard to manage and serve.

Thats a quote from RC. Does he seriously expect some of the poorest countries in the world to offer aid to help build the richest ecconomy in the world?
Im not saying these countries should not be sympathetic, but it is unreasonable to expect them to help.
