Recently, I bought a new Athlon 1.3 to replace my Duron650. A few minutes after installing and running the new chip I got a black screen and my computer wont post anymore. My chip runs in other motherboards so i know it's my motherboard. I think the problem might have to do with my PSU and I am now deathly afraid of ruining another motherboard when i buy and install it. So here is a quick rundown of my system, let me know what you think. Could the PSU be the culprit? Should i spend another $65 on a new PSU? If buying a new PSU is recommended, how many watt should I get?
MSI K7TPro
AthlonB 1.3
512MB Corsair PC133 CL2
Cardexpert GeForce2 Pro 450 64MB DDR
WD Caviar 20.5GB ATA66 7200RPM
52X CDROM

That's about it. No DVD (yet), No CDR (yet).
Thanks in advance for the replies.

At least a 300 watt psu.
but if you get those extra drives you might want 350 to 400.

Witness the speed of a 1x Cd-rom and dispair.

That to low, especially if also get a DVD. To be sure you have enough for a while you best take an 350/400 Watt.
