$80 is the cheapest I've bought it at, and I'm mad it didn't stock up on OEMs before Win8 dropped. Win8 is the sale this week:
But.. Yeah. Win8 gets a lot of hate even though it actually 'runs' just fine, gaming is the same once you're actually in game, I've tested and benched firsthand, but I think the hate is warranted for removing/changing so much just to seduce the Apple crowd. I hope SP1 item one is- make Metro an option that has to be enabled, not disabled. Also, Start button needs to come back.
Thanks for that link to Win 7 OEM the other day...by the time I went to check it out (a few hours later)http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116986
the price had already jumped back up close to the $100 mark, but I'll keep checking newegg and the emails I get from them daily. Based on cost and my individual needs I'm likely going to pick the OEM up when I see the price dip back down to the $85 mark again. If they run a sale on the Win 7 Home Premium full I might go that route too, if the price is right.
Poor Win 8 does get a bad rap but having never used it I'm just going by all the bad things I read about it.
