Hello, so I dropped my laptop this weekend. But it still worked for a few minutes before it froze. So I powered it off and tried to turn it back on. It turns back on just fine, but will continuously load the "Starting Windows" screen. I tried doing diagnostics and repairs, nothing. When I load it in safe mode, it loads up until the ClassPNP.sys, and then freezes.
Open it up to see if you can spot any physical damage.
I once dropped my laptop down a flight of stairs. O_O
I was lucky it still lasted for the next couple of years :]
I opened up the back. No physical damage. I may have missed out on mentioning that I'm currently in China and don't have access to my recovery disks. If it is in fact a software issue, is there anything I can run from the startup that isn't from a recovery disk?
See if you can boot into safe mode.
Run a hard drive test in DOS... HIRENS BOOT CD etc, it sounds like a failing hard drive...
All the best Brett
I also experience the same problem beofre. Even though I have overcame it by re-installing the system, I don't know the reason. Is there anybody who knows it?
