I've got an c500 on the way to me (eBay) and it currently has the 4.0
OS. PalmOne site shows a 4.1 upgrade for the m500. Will this install
on the c500 or is there something special in the rebadged IBM that
will prevent this?
I haven't found any mention of 4.1 availability on the IBM support
pages yet.
I'm looking for the 4.1 upgrade because it apparently fixes support
for larger SD cards.

Yes, you can run the Palm OS 4.1 upgrade and it works just fine on the
c500. I had a c500 that I bought brand new off ebay & still in the
sealed box (it was a business that had them but never used them). I
ran the upgrade from the Palm website, and it worked flawlessly, though
it does take a while and the screen will look funky while you are doing
it, so don't freak out. I used the c500 for awhile then passed it on
to my mom who still uses it now. Great machine, and looks cool with
the black face. You should really like it.

You're fine. They're identical machines.

I appreciate the info, folks. Thanks to both posters for their input.
