What exactly changed for you to get this message ?
Also what OS are we talking about ?
Set "plug and play OS to "yes" in bios.
Any beep codes ?
What exactly happends with a boot floppy ? And to boot to floppy put "boot A then C" in bios.
Should really be no serious reason for you to have the described trouble !

Are your or is your DD detected properly by bios at bootup ?
Don't really know.
Last resort: Boot to Dos disk. do Fdisk and foramt reinstall. Not the most intelligent solution for everything but works most often !

What i meant was during bootup bios gives onscreen info to it's progression. When it is at the stage of querring the DD you will see this onscreen as "detecting such and such as master and such and such as slave".
Also what i meant was if all fails, boot to DOS, then Fdisk and Format your DD.
If your DD is not detected by bios then your bios needs to be reset (see your manual) or upgraded.
There is no reason for you to be stopped cold in your tracks as this !
