Hi all,

I've got a DDR-motherboard on order, but am having to pick up a replacement CPU before it arrives. The problem is my current board is an MSI K7T Pro-2A (KT133A chipset). This mobo doesn't support a 133/266mhz FSB.

I want to install the AthlonXP, boot up, and then maybe use the BIOS clock-adjuster to tweak the FSB to 133mhz - but I don't know if the CPU will POST with a 100/200mhz FSB setting initially.

Anyone have any idea if this would work or not? Its a temporary solution - but it does need to be stable...

Thanks! Take care,

you can switch to 100FSB instead of 133 but im not sure if this will be accepted by your cpu if it's not unlocked.

but anyway you can try this because if it's work, your system will be stable.

if you know you don't know, the way could be more easy.

I installed a K7T Pro Turbo Limited edition (KT133A) with a Athlon XP1600+, the first time I booted up, it booted at 1050Mhz, went to the BIOS, changed to 133 and voilà!

Oh, sorry, I didn't took enough time to read carefully the first time, not sure for your question.
