AMD 1.4

I,m going to build a new computer and am thinking of AMD 1.4 chip and upgrade later to a faster chip when the prices go down. Is this smart or should I just buy the fastest chip now for twice the money.

IMO, you should buy XP1600+ (around $120) but with better performance and running cooler.

Good or Bad have no meaning at all, depends on what your point of view is.
