so annoying! please help

i have been trying to get rid of the links folder that relentlessly keeps reappearing in my favorites. i tried the method on tweakXP:

1. start regedit, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
2. locate the string "LinksFolderName" right click on it and select delete.
3. click ok, and exit regedit
4. restart

this did not work...i tried making the folder read only and hidden...this did not work
what am i to do? can someone help me?

Making it hidden worked for me. Try doing so, and then rebooting your machine. It should be gone.
