I'm upgrading for a Dual Motherboard and wonder will a 1.13 processor work since that is, accoding to http://support.intel.com/support/p [...] ec/p3p.htm, it should work. Though many of the other P-3 processors still use the .18 micron processor. Is there a P-3 1.13 processor that was made as a .18 design? Or did Intel move directly to .13 design after 1.0 GHz? My mainboard say's it can accept a P-3 from 500~1130 Mhz, 100, 133 Mhz FSB. I posted a few days ago, but never got a reply. My Mainboard is a VIA 694D, VIA 694X, VT82C686B chipset. I would appreciate any help with the question. If this has already been asked just say so, and I'll look again for it, though haven't found it yet.

Yes, they have .18 micron p3@1.13ghz.

You cannot use the .13 tuallys without a special slotket adapter.

Heres the bad news, the .18micron p3@1.13 is very rare and rather expensive.

And the tually/slotket is expensive as well. You can however get a 1.2ghz duron, and a motherboard for LESS than the cost of the p3's!

If you reuse all your other parts you can have quite a nice upgrade and still have your current mobo and cpu to sell.

If youre not interested in the amd route, crashman can hook you up, he is the resident p3 expert in the forum.

By the Matisaro, mine is FCPGA socket 370..Should have mentioned that before..just really tired...just realized that there may not be a slotket adapter for it..Thanks for the reply and the help.

Powerleap has an FC-PGA to FC-PGA2 adapter in the works, should be released in the not too distant future.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

Well, the choice is clear then, new mobo/cpu time!

Perhaps, but is there a valid solution?

He emailed me and wanted to go the intel route, thats cool, but the sloket he needs dosent exist yet, if time is a concern than the amd/mobo route is the best way to go IMO.

He could just go with two PIII 1.0GHz CPU's for far less money and no adapter hassles compared to a Tulatin upgrade!

Not too bad, $132. Remember that Intel is trying to maintain high prices on these to help justify the price of the P4.
