I have a Dell Dimension XPS D233 that I want to upgrade. I have an adapter to put in my PII Slot1 so that I can put in a 370 Socket CPU. I bought the adadpter awhile ago and when I did I researched what I could put in it. Somewhere I remember reading that it had to be a PIIIE Coppermine not over 750. Anyone know where I can find out about this?

If your motherboard supports Coppermine CPUs (probably by BIOS upgrade), your concern will be with the chipset. The fastest processor that will operate at full speed on an LX is the Celeron 766. The fastest ordinary PIII that will operate on a Dell BX is the PIII 850. The Powerleap iP3/T Celeron 1.2GHZ package will run 1200MHz only on the BX.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

Dell's forum is a good place to find out what others have done as well.
