I7 2820QM vs i7 2720QM

Hi guys, I am new to this forum and I would like to find answers for the questions I'm having currently.

Like the title says, is the performance gain from 2820qm over 2720qm justifies the huge price difference?

Because Im thinking of buying alienware m17x r3, and these two processors make me wondering.

And one more thing, will I notice significant performance gain with 8mb cache of 2820qm compared to 6mb cache of 2720qm?

They are in 10th and 12th place on the list, if you are looking at gaming the money is better spent on better GPU than the CPU upgrade.

No it will not. Neither will the 100MHz (less than 5%) in clock speed.

Best thing to do methinks would be to drop Alienware and buy a Sandy Bridge laptop from Asus or Clevo. Alienware doesn't make laptops. Prior to Del''s purchase they were rebranded Celvo's
