Has anybody used Hardcore Cooling's Athlon XP unlocking kit?
Does the conductive grease harden? I'm worried it might slide off(could that happen?). Would I be better off just getting the Silver Lacquer that was used in Tom's Hardware's article on AXP unlocking? I heard Super Glue was conductive, what should I use, would some Arctic Alumina Adhesive work(as it's not conductive)?
I recommend against trying to unlock the xp cpu, unless you have alot of patience, and are willing to spend about $23 for the silver laquer. There's about a 50-50 chance you'll be successful. You must be very careful scraping off the excess super glue. The organic brown or green material on the xp cpu is very thin, and you can scrap too deep, exposing circuitry.
There are little tape strips available with metal lines in them, which make unlocking a snap, I forgot the name of them but they were used to easily unlock the old tbirds before, I have read they work well with the new tbirds. They cost less than 10 bucks IIRC.

I want to unlock it, cause I want a 183MHz FSB for my OCZ PC3000 DDR I have alot of patience.
Tape strips with metal lines in them? Who sells these? With those I wouldn't even need to fill the laser locks would I? Did you use these?
IM still running my tbird, I read about them, as I said, I have no idea who makes them, but you should be able to use google and find the name, or try www.athlonoc.com.
