Duron 1.2GHz feezes after 10 mins

Hi

System hangs approx. 10mins after start. After that boots only with old cpu (750MHz Athlon).
Can put new cpu back but it sill hangs after 10 mins of use.

Cooler+fan = Glacialtech Igloo 2310, claimed to be nuff for even 2GHz cpus
naturally installed with silver paste.

New CPU = AMD Duron 1.2GHz
Old CPU = AMD Athlon 750MHz
Mobo = MSI K7T Pro (MSI-6330) revision 1

MSI web site sais this mobo has been tested with AMD Duron 1.2GHz

BIOS sais core voltage with Duron is 1.75 which it is supposed to be.
However other windows CPU monitoring programs report core voltage to be 1.82 a the same time.

have you thought that it might be the cpu is bad and its not the mob?

Although your heatsink is said to be enough I would check the temps.
And how many Watt is the powersupply you're using, the newer CPU uses more power then the old one.

CPU temperature below 40C when crashing. Power supply AMD approved up to Athlon XP 2GHz.
System crashes under Linux, Dos and Windows.

Load BIOS Failsafe (or whatever) Settings and see if that works, might be that your memory timings are to fast.

Then I don't think it is a memory problem. Could one be a bad CPU, to weak powersupply, or overheating I think.
