Comparison between Intel i3-380M vs i3-2310M

The Core i3-380M @ 2.53Ghz CPU has slightly better performance than the i3-2310M @ 2.1Ghz. The Sandy Bridge CPUs have about a 15% performance advanage over the 1st Gen Core i CPUs at the same clock speed.
i3-2310M @ 2.1Ghz + 15% = 2.415Ghz or a Core i3 370 2.4Ghz CPU.

Core i3 380M ranked #55
Core i3 370M (2.4Ghz) ranked #69
Core i3-2310M ranked #70

i am buying sony vaio laptop ,can you suggest which model to choose between VPCEH16EN ( 4 GB RAM with 2nd Gen Intel i3-2310M processor ) or VPCEB44EN ( 3 GB RAM, with Intel core i3-380M processor ) want to buy it today, would appreciate your prompt reply...

Even thought the i3-380M has a slight lead in overall CPU performance (small enough you'd not notice the difference IMO) I'm recommending you go for the i3-2310M model with 4GB of RAM and the HD 3000 graphics, which is a nice upgrade over the HD graphics of the i3-380M.

Does the also have the NVIDIA GeForce 410M? If so, even better.

Don't get the 410m it's a waste of money. It performs almost exactly like the HD3000. I just bought this laptop and finished my review about it. Will post it later today.

finally i hv bought sony vaio E16 series with 4MB RAM, new generation intel processor.
i have one question, since the operation system is 64 bit Windows 7 Home basic, can i load Microsoft office 2007 which is 32 bit edition. will it harm my computer. Are there 32bit or 64 bits editions in microsoft office 2007.

futher which anti-virus pack should i use, and hw much will it cost?
can u guide me

MS Office 2007 32bit (there is no 64bit version) will run very nicely on Win7 64bit.
