After problems began to surface indicating a possible disk issue (backup
failures, formatting failures) I ran the complete system diagnostic suite
(everything, about six hours worth), as well as the 90/90 disk tests, and
everything came up clean except for multiple errors of the following two
types:

System Memory - Memory Data Line Test : Fail
Status: Fail Status Code: DOS DDG-D MEMORY 020 025
Device: System_Memory Test: Memory_Data_Line_Test
Release: 1004 Module(s): Memory
Msg: System memory test detected a failure in U6 located on System board.
Read 01010121h, expected 01010101h at address 0619B1C4h.

System Memory - Memory Bit Coupling Test : Fail
Status: Fail Status Code: DOS DDG-D MEMORY 040 025
Device: System_Memory Test: Memory_Bit_Coupling_Test
Release: 1004 Module(s): Memory
Msg: System memory test detected a failure in U6 located on System board.
Read 00003100h, expected 00000000h at address 01680004h.

From this can I assume that what looked like disk problems were actually
caused by memory errors? If so, what do I do now? I checked everything I
could find online at Dell, but there's no mention of "U6" anywhere. Does it
correspond to either memory Slot 1 or Slot 2, or is it something else?

I have tried asking Dell these questions but the only response I've received
so far is "send it in." Not much help. If anyone has any insight on this,
I'd much appreciate it. Thanks.
