Will the full release version of Windows 7 load as an update to Vista 64 or will it have to be a clean install?

We don't know it's not finished yet. But as far as what the testing beta shows I suppose it will have the option. I don't see why not. Again, it's a beta, so don't quote this. It's probably far away anyways and unless your an enthusiast about it and like to explore and spend time with testing betas then I'd wait until it's released.

Since Windows 7 is based off of Vista, it will most likely allow Vista owners to upgrade to Windows 7. Personally, I just do a full install anyway.

I'd do the same. Although it's up to them. At the worse you can use Vista to make a small partition to save what you need then do a full install of Windows 7 on the main partition. You can transer the files back to the os partition then make it one partition again. Sounds hard to do, but it's a feature that's already in Vista, and as I can see, in this beta. XP didn't have this feature (that I know of anyway) and I can see why they made it for Vista and I believe they will do the same for the next.

Windows 7 is based on Vista because Vista has been so successful for MS? LMAO!

As for me, I'll stick with XP. :D

And before all you Vista lovers cry about that...at least its better than me switching to MAC...right?

A clean install is always the best option.

Pure win 7 speculation is almost as humurous as idiots bashing vista.

@croc and so is your ignorance. I remember the Vista speculation. Oh wait, it really wasn't speculation cause they released the rc final as the intial retail release. Give me a break... Also, when it does kick ass and those people called it ahead of time, what are you going to say then?

ok... i will not speculate nothig because i teasting vista right now (when i write this replay i use windows 7 build 7000) the OS is more fast thant XP super organized ... no like vista y very stressfull!! :S with warnigs and that crap... the os is eyes candy like vista but very stable and fast like XP.. i know.. all wana listen about the gaming performance... for mi.. in the most of case.. is like xp or more fast.. i use AMD X2 5400+ 2GB 4-4-4-12 dual but with XP sp3... and it boot more fast than XP AND IT ARE A "BETA"...

NICE JOB MICROSOFT =)
