KIS 2013

After installing Kaspersky Internet Security 2013, i restarted my machine and windows failed to start up with Error: Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might have caused the issue after you install Windows Updates. A system restore solves the issue of the start up but my computer is now without an anti virus. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the antivirus but got the same problem again. How do i go about installing an anti virus without any start up problems?

  1. Install a different internet security package - not KIS.

if you just want antivirus without firewall:

    Microsoft Security Essentials: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows/security-essentials-download

If you want antivirus + firewall package: http://free.agnitum.com/

If you don't mind paying for what I consider to be the best: http://uk.norton.com/now/en/GB_SITE/pu/images/Promotions/2012/8487/ch2.html?undefined&s_tnt=51623:19:0
  2. Sorry - duplicate post (text deleted).
  3. Since I use the internet very frequently, i would rather have the full package. I dont mind paying but is there a guarantee that i will not have the same issue with norton?i am assuming the issue is to do with the computer rather than the antivirus.
  4. i checked the system compatibility and there were no issues. I have a 32-bit OS and installed a 32-bit KIS version. I have scanned my device with Windows Defender and no issues noted.
