What is the difference between P4 1.8 and P4 1.8A? I thought this on www.newegg.com. Does anyone know the difference between this two models? Or where can I find the difference on intel's website?

P4 1.8 isd the .18 micron Willamette core version of P4
P4 1.8A is the .13 micron Northwood version of the chip.

The 1.8A includes a larger L2 cache and I believe it performs a little better than the Willamette version.

It should also overclock quite a lot better.

Hehe, tripple post. I guess three threads are better than one.

What zengeos said was correct. The P4 1.8A is faster, overclocks better, and runs cooler (which makes it even better still for overclocking).

Thank you very much.
Btw, do you think googlegear is a reliable website? It's price is very low, that is pretty tempting. But I heard someone said googlegear is a bad choice, they recommend newegg.
thanks in advance.

I just bought an axp 1700+ from googlegear, got it right on time, and no hassles.

Go for it.

Newegg is good too.
