Installed Linux Mandrake - HD problem!!

I installed Linux Mandrake 7.2 on an empty FAT32 partition on my hard drive, using the complete installation partition. However, after installation, the hard drive will not work at all! The BIOS recognizes the hard drive, but as long as it connected I can't boot *anything*. Not even with a floppy. Any suggestions or hints? I can't fdisk /mbr, since I cannot load anything as long as this hard drive is connected.

Did you try using a floppy boot disk, and then fdisk /mbr?

It's a longshoot, but did you check BIOS for boot order? Maybe it's harddisk only? Try to change it.

P.S. You are not using U-ATA/100, are You?
