Dude, I think we need to change the face of this section. I was just over at Anandtech and they have members posting pics of their breasts after getting them done. We don't get anything like that here.

I noticed that when I first started playing but it goes away, I think its a lot brighter than previous SS games were, you have to kill everything in a section to get to look around some, if you look around first you're dead.

Yeah some forums have username ICONS or pictures and allow attachments, I wish we had that here, do you know if there are any plans in the works to improve our posting capabilities here?

Sorry your M/Bs down but you were one of the main ones here that I knew was waiting on this game, at least finally we have the demo so the game will be here soon, I'm looking forward to some Serious online gaming fun with this one!!!!

We played Second Encounter into the ground and loved every minute of it, so now we have some fresh meat, its a lot different though RC, and so far none of the old characters have popped up, this thing is huge though considering they've only given us a tidbit to play with. :smile:

Man I can't wait to get it going..... I tried loading it on this machine, but it puked out on me!!!! I may get a board today & get the gaming rig going.... You can bet I'll get the demo loaded then!!!!!!!

I have been looking forward to playing it though!!!! TT has been ready for it as well!!!!!

After everyone gets the hang of the game lets get together and play it online, I hope it will allow Coop mode as the past ones have, its a lot more fun when you can get a few together that will work together as a team and watch each others backs, I know ArthurH will be in on it, he and I still occasionally play Second Encounter online and we've had a blast at it.

As someome who's never played it, but heard a lot about it, how easy is it to get the hang of? Might have a bash with the demo. I know you love it Ryan, so give me the hard sell.

Its a lot different than the previous Serious Sams Rob, so for me the jury is still out on it, I like it but theres something about it I'm not that crazy about but can't quite put my finger on it yet. I know that probably doesn't make any sense, but just learning which weapon to use against certain enemies used to be a major factor, other than that its just shoot the hell out of whatevers in your path! :smile:

It hasn't gotten me laughing at the absurdity of it all yet. That's the benchmark I'll use to judge it. I use to be hysterical laughing while playing SS.

GFX at first glance are amazing. Runs picture perfect and smooth on my card with 1600*1200.

At 1920x1200 I had to turn the graphics down. But even then I was getting nautious. I don't know if it was me or the game.

I'll tell you that in widescreen it's pretty weird.

Slow your mouse response a little and cut off the music and see if that helps.

Cutting the music off helped tremendously for me, but I usually cut it off in every game I play, especially FarCry, but in this game the music is a little irritating, its a lot better play without it!

Wow, in Far Cry I found it to be truly atmospheric, it made lots of places scary as hell.
It also did a good job of indicating when an enemy is on to you, aside from the Stealth meter.

Its more realistic without the music, if you were in a real combat situation there wouldn't be any music playing, and without the music playing you can clearly hear them walking around.

In some situations the music in some games can get you killed and if you like the scary as hell atmosphere, try playing Aliens vs Predator 2 as the Colonial Marine with the music on! You'll about have a heart attack! Saw AvsP 2 the other day at BestBuy for $9.99 US! :smile:

If I remember correctly which game that was, then yeah I TOTALLY agree to that statement!!!
I remember playing the demo as a marine. The first level got me scared as hell, and I had barely begun walking. I made my younger cousin play it, he didn't last 8 seconds.

Totally agree on that one.


You're also right about the no music in real life situations statement. But I guess I like how a video game changes that a bit.

I have never played that game I downloaded and played it for a bit I was very disappointed with it.......If you had said it was Quake II revisited I would not have bothered installing the demo.

I never enjoyed Quake either.

Its just a personal preference for me Vic, doesn't mean you have to play your games with music turned off, sometimes its just flat better to turn the music off, but that really depends on the game and if the music is well matched to the game.

ROFL Yep thats AvsP 2 alright, I had to stop playing every now and then and tell myself [Heart pounding like a triphammer] "OK!, Calm down!, This is just a game!!!" :smile:

This new engine is a lot different than the old Serious Sam engine, and will take some getting used to, but most everyone thats old Serious Sam players already knew it was coming out, at least if you don't like it, you haven't lost any money on it to find out.

At first I wasn't too crazy about it, but the more I play it the more I like it!

What are your favorite type games?

Alien Vers Pred sounds interesting I don't scare easy. Perhaps if I lost a leg off at the knee or 2 I might start fretting a little but I will check out the Ver's match sounds FUN!!

Seriously only thing that ever really made me wince was a Kidney stone that I passed about 8 years ago. Yes I know sounds funny as hell after having dozens of bones broken and healed over the years to be made to cry over a piece of granulated sand.

Imagine a Knife in your back and its 12 feet long heated and there is a Tazmanian devil swinging off the handle of the knife snorting coke. That is a kidney stone.

If you liked the Aliens Movie, you'll like AvsP 2, the Aliens are realistic they run at you, on the floor, the walls, the ceilings, theres not many people I've run across that have actually beaten the game as the Colonial Marine, myself included, I've never been able to beat the Queen at the end, maybe you can!

Can you link me to that game... I want to see the box it comes in... We've talked about it before & you just said you saw it for $9.99 at Best Buy..... I never see it, or I'm not looking for the right game I guess.... [shrug]

Online it says its out of stock at BestBuy, I saw it on the shelves at my local Best Buy 2 days ago, but its not in the game section you would think it should be in, its in a reduced price special section with other games also reduced. Its Aliens vs Predator 2 Gold, it includes the expansion pack Primal Hunt, if you have a BestBuy near you ask them where the reduced for quick sale games are at.

Ok I got down the Elevator Shaft and there are 3 persons attached tot eh wall gestating alien spore in their guts.

1 Looks like Vascas the Chicano from Aliens two she asks you to kill her as one is trying to come forth from her intestines so I wack her and the other 2 but there is no other routes out accept for 2 square ports high above your head but there is no way up to them. I tried modding pipes etc like in HL2 to get a way up but nothing.

You can go back up the Elevator and drop down a hole but that simply kills you as you drop dead from a 2 story drop.

So is there more to that Demo ? If not I will blow it out of the O.S and defrag the F:\ Drive.
