Hp dv6000 does not recognise ram

Iam not a tech but have a working knowledge of computers,this problem I have never seen!-upgraded ram from1 to 2Gb-now it will not boot to bios much less win-switched back to orignal ram but no change-did all the quick fixes-remove battery hold down power button...etc...etc nothing!!! anyone run into this before?

Are you sure you attached the RAM properly and it was the right type for the system?

i think its a hardware prob. I think take it to any laptop repair store they can fix it up very easily.

You may be right, but if you know what they charge you understand why that will be last resort-thanks
