Samsung like Crucial (although not to the same extent) underestimates the quality of their RAM. The RAM can easily handle CAS2.

AMD technology + Intel technology = Intel/AMD Pentathlon IV; the <b>ULTIMATE</b> PC processor

so is setting the ram to cas2 just a simple matter of changing a cas setting in the bios? I've never played around with my ram settings in the past.. and also, is there a noticable difference between cas2 and 2.5? Or is it something you will only see in benchmarks

Yes, it's a simple matter of changing it in the BIOS. There probably won't be a huge performance difference, I would say ~5%.
