Hello, I want to know what the minimum requirements are on a laptop to play full HD movies. I'm going to purchase a laptop and am actually wondering if the following specs are legit for work and movie purposes:

Lenovo Thinkpad Edge E420s Series NZ14AZA (1141-4AG) Black Notebook, Intel Mobile QM67 Express Chipset, Intel Core i3 Sandy Bridge Dual Core i3-2310M 2.1Ghz 3MB L3 Cache Processor, 4096MB DDR3-1333 SO-Dimm Memory (1x4096), 500GB 7200rpm SATA Hard Drive, DVD Writer optical drive, 14" WXGA HD (1366 x 768 resolution) Non Gloss Type LED Backlit Display, Intel HD graphics, 802.11b/g/n Wireless Lan, 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN, Bluetooth, Webcam, 6 Cell Battery, Fingerprint Reader, HDMI output, 1.9 kg, Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Edition 64bit, 1 Year Carry in warranty

I have no interest in gaming, only running some lower engineering simulations.

thank you!

well since it has an i3 xxxx cpu then

the Intel HD Graphics 3000 supports the complete decoding of MPEG2 H264 VC1 etc

dont worry it will run almost everything

read more about the HD 3000 IGP

As owned & Jaguar mention that integrated HD 3000 Graphics will easily handle HD video.

For comparison it's roughly the same GPU power as an recent entry level dedicated graphics cards like Nvidia Geforce 130M or AMD HD 5450.
