I just bought a Celeron 1100 coppermine CPU (100 mhz bus) and FC-PGA to Slot1 adapter with PIII-coppermine support. The old BF6 mainborad is not working with the new processor but working with its old celeron 466. I have also upgraded the bios to the latest version which supports Celerons up to 1100 mhz(says coppermine only). I tried clearing CMOS, but it doesn't help.
The 1100mghz celeron has the following signs on it - 1100/128/1.75v,
How can I make this CPU work on BF6? Please help.

YOu can probably make it work by rasing your core voltage to 1.80v or 1.85v. Your old motherboard probably detects a voltage it can't support and refuses to boot. The Coppermine (1.65v-1.75v) processors can handel the extra voltage well, and you might even find a little added room for overclocking. You can raise the voltage from 1.75v to 1.85v by connecting the VID1 pin to VSS, download the spec sheet for Socket 370 from Intel to figure out which pins are which.

What's the frequency, Kenneth?
