I have read that some people say that retail processors are better than OEMs. Is the only difference that the retail comes with factory heatsink or am I missing something. I wouldn't think that the retail processors would be any better. Are they the same other then the heatsink?

There is no differance in preformance between OEM and retail cpus. OEM CPUs are usually chip only and come with 30-90 warranty. Retail has heatsink + fan and has 3 year or more warrnty

Retail CPUs come with a 3 year waranty and a stock Heatsink. The waranty is void if you don't use the stock heatsink.

The OEM vs Retail difference in performance is a GPU issue at times, not a CPU issue.

I do not like it Tom you see,
I do not like green PCB.

The only difference with OEM is warranty, and no Heatsink, therefore you choose which, a good choice if you want to overclock.
DO NOT use the Athlon Retail HSFs to overclock, you will regret it.
