Hello,
I pretty sure my laptop got hit by a power surge during a thunderstorm. I can turn it on but it won't last for long because it overheats. So I just put it over the ac vent and it will work partially. I can't get any audio "No audio output device is installed" and i cant see sound, video and game controllers in the device manager. So I was wondering if there is a solution that doesn't involve replacing things.
BTW I have a Dell Studio 1555, Win7 home premium, 4GB ram, 500GB harddrive. if that helps.

well for no audio device you want to install drivers for sound card.

But if the motherboard doesn't see them then something clearly got fried, and sorry but no, if hardware was damaged there's no solution that doesn't involve replacement
