when i boot up in safe mode, the screen looks ok. Out of curiosity of a possible bad driver, i reformatted the laptop . it looks ok at the default 640 x 480 screen resolution, when i boot up. But when i change the resolution to anything higher, the problem at the onset appears. when i revert back to 640 x 480 screen resolution,, the creen looks ok again.

so am guessing its driver issue. where can i get the drivers for insyde cs553x

I think insyde was at one time also in the laptop business but got out.
Did you ask Windows to look for a new driver?

I'd also be interested in knowing how the screen looks in some of the other available resolutions like 800x600, 1024x768, etc.

Looks like the company is in Nigeria and you can try contacting them for support

otherwise download a program called Everest it will be able to tell you the board manufacturers and such so you can grab manufacturer drivers
