  1. Hello coolcurrent;

    When you boot up in Safe Mode what does the screen look like then?
  2. what resolution are you running at and what is your monitor rated for?
  3. when i boot up in safe mode, the screen looks ok. Out of curiosity of a possible bad driver, i reformatted the laptop . it looks ok at the default 640 x 480 screen resolution, when i boot up. But when i change the resolution to anything higher, the problem at the onset appears. when i revert back to 640 x 480 screen resolution,, the creen looks ok again.

    so am guessing its driver issue. where can i get the drivers for insyde cs553x
  4. manufacturer's website, support section
  5. can you kindly point me to a link for that
  6. honestly, no I cannot, because you've never told us what brand the computer is.

    insyde is a software company
  7. on the body of the laptop is written Omatek, but whe i do systeminfo in command prompt, i see
    system manufacturer: insyde
    system model = cs553x___
  8. I think insyde was at one time also in the laptop business but got out.
    Did you ask Windows to look for a new driver?
  9. How To Update Drivers in Windows

    I'd also be interested in knowing how the screen looks in some of the other available resolutions like 800x600, 1024x768, etc.
